In 2009, AMRA organised a competition for the best-kept gardens in and around the Marina, and this year we are will be doing it again. It's just a bit of fun, to encourage residents to make the most of their outdoor space and enhance the area for themselves and their neighbours.

Last year's winners were Gail and Paddy Viney, and Dee and Richard Whitfield. To recognise their talent (and to make sure everybody else has a chance!), they will be the judges for this year's competition. There will be first, second and third prizes in each of two categories (to be confirmed), and pictures from the winning gardens and selected other entrants will be featured on this website.

More details, including dates and how to enter, will be posted on this page in due course, and announced in the e-Zine. In the meantime, brush off your trowels and hoes and get gardening!

This site is implemented using the Joomla! content management system, and configured by Colin Hogben, AMRA's webmaster.

• SmartSEF to make human-friendly URLS

The site is hosted by e-noise, a UK company. The cost for a year's hosting was £24.99 - it's amazing what capabilities you can get for a modest outlay these days!

Pictures in the photo album are contributed by Association members. The banner uses a picture taken by Paul Burnett.

From time to time the Association publishes newsletters, listing forthcoming events and items of interest to residents. The paper Newsletter is published annually and distributed by hand to local residents. The electronic magazine or "e-zine" contains more frequent updates and is delivered by email to members. You can download them here, too.

Neighbourhood Watch co-ordinators do a marvellous job of looking after our community and helping to keep it a safe place to live. If you see any disturbing incidents, vandalism, noisy bikes or inappropriate behaviour taking place, ring 0845 8505505 as soon as possible to report it and get a "URN" number, which allows you to refer back to that all in future. This information should then be passed on to your Neighbourhood Watch Rep. The police are looking for a 'pattern' and every incident reported adds up to make a bigger picture. In this way we can all help each other.
